How do I create a component in Figma?

Select one or more layers, then press Ctrl+Alt+K (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+Alt+K (macOS). The selected layers become a Component (appears as a diamond icon in the layers panel). Instances of the component stay linked — edits to the main component update all instances automatically.

How do I export a layer in Figma?

Select the layer, then press Ctrl+Shift+E (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+Shift+E (macOS) to open the export dialog. Choose format (PNG, JPG, SVG, PDF), scale, and suffix. For quick copy, use Ctrl+Alt+Shift+C / Cmd+Alt+Shift+C to copy as PNG directly to clipboard.
